Photography
Property.ca Inc. photos should always be high-resolution and be appropriate to the context.
Lighting & Colour
Photos should evoke a welcoming, trustworthy feeling using appropriate lighting and colour.
Light should look natural and not be overly dramatic or have shadows or harsh highlights. Images should have a natural white balance and not look overly stylized. Colour enhancement should not depend on post-processing and should be incorporated into initial planning.
Composition
The objective of using open space is to create an appealing impression of positivity. By using negative space, the viewer's attention is easily attracted to the main focus. Incorporate negative space around the subject so additional design elements can be included. To establish a visual simplicity, coordinate locations, backgrounds, and wardrobe, and simplify the shots instead of using too much shallow depth of field.
Set up free headshots with our in-house photographer
Photo shoots take place at the Property.ca Inc. Distillery District head office. Sessions are 10 minutes, with photos available the following business day. Professional dress is recommended. No hats, sunglasses, scarves or large, reflective jewelry.
To book a session, contact marketing@property.ca.
Headshots requirements for offices outside the GTA
Take photos outdoors with natural lighting and with your face centred, in focus and without shadows. Photos should be taken in full colour at a high resolution (300 dpi /5472px x 3648px). Ensure skin tone looks natural and is not distorted with flash photography or photo editing effects.
Locations
We feature vibrant, visually appealing settings to communicate our nationwide reach. When selecting a location for your photos, find settings with unique characteristics and colours that convey a feeling of community. Avoid anything too visually busy to ensure focus remains on the subject.
Applications
Photography can be used in print materials (flyers, posters, indoor and outdoor signage, pamphlets, magazines), digital materials (websites, phone applications, social media content, and animations), and branded promotional products (t-shirts, hats, bags, coffee mugs, pens, stationery).
